Medical Advocacy - Volunteers respond to survivors who present at area hospitals for treatment. Weekday on-call shifts are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., and weekend on-call shifts are 24 hours (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following day).

Crisis Hotline/Shelter Advocate - Volunteers answer the crisis hotline and work the front desk when staff are unavailable. In the “notes” section below, please state if you would prefer to be added to the on-call calendar rotation or only called as needed.

Transportation - Volunteers use a Freedom House vehicle to transport clients to appointments.

Childcare - Volunteers provide childcare to clients in times of need (such as during a job interview or counseling session).

Community Awareness Events - Volunteers help with many aspects of community events, including organizing, fundraising, setting up, tearing down, and attending the events. Events could include parades, galas, informational booths, etc.

Outreach - Volunteers help spread the word about Freedom House services through distribution of brochures and promotional items.

Maintenance - Volunteers assist with building maintenance such as moving furniture, cleaning, painting, yard work, etc.

Clerical Assistance - Freedom House often needs assistance with filing and other office tasks such as photocopying and stuffing envelopes.
